Evolution Revolution

In a 3 day play project called 'Evolution Revolution' at RCA/Imperial we redesigned the vacuuming experience. We explored both, an evolutionary and revolutionary approach to innovation. Here's our (playful) concept.

Redesigning the vacuum cleaner, PikaPika breaks off into two parts to efficiently clean any part of a room.

The Japanese word ぴか (pika) roughly translates to shining. Since the idea was to split the vacuum into two parts, 2x pika.

The actual vacuums come with an app that lets you scan and monitor your flat and cleaning process.

In order to understand the design of a current vacuum cleaner, we took it apart. We then looked at what elements we most wanted to redesign.
